AgSun provides corn flakes as a feed ration for area feedlots and dairies

Our facility has the ability to feed 40,000 to 50,000 head of cattle every day, with our customers using a few hundred pounds of flakes per day up to 50 ton per day.

Corn flakes have been proven to be a better source of energy than rolled/ground corn as cattle digest and utilize the flakes better.  For feeder cattle, flakes allow 15% improvement in energy values.  For dairies, starch availability is also improved giving cows a better source of energy.

This results in more energy for more milk production.

Our area of coverage entails Western Kansas currently.  However, we have delivered flakes in the past into Nebraska and Colorado.

The source of our grain comes from local farmers -

The majority is received during the fall corn harvest and we have the ability to store 1.5 million bushels at our facility.  We generally purchase an additional amount after harvest from farm storage during the 1st quarter of the following year. The volume of after-harvest purchase depends on the quantity of sales.  In the years we have been in business, we have flaked in the range of 1.6 to 2.25 million bushels of flakes.
